The AltMedia Experience

 The AltMedia Experience is a 1 week long event organized by AltCity.me and here is an explanation from the event organizers

The AltMedia Experience will bring together a variety of community and corporate partners, media creators, innovators and activists around the themes of alternative media, new media, citizen journalism, and advocacy. The week-long event, at the end of July, will include a wide variety ofactivities, including media-focused art exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and discussions, as well as fun and participatory cultural events in the evenings. This event is the first public (pre-launch) event at the new AltCity media/tech/social impact collaboration space that will be launching in Hamra this fall, and we’re excited to bring people into this space while it is still very much “in development” in order to engage the broader community in the design of both the physical space and the services/activities that will take place there.

” كيف تصبح صحافياً مدنياً ؟؟ “

لتتعلم اسهل الطرق والتقنيات التي تخولك أن تصبح صحافياً مدنياً، يمكنك المشاركة في ورشة العمل التي تنظمها “حبر لبناني” بالتعاون مع “الجامعة اللبنانية – معهد الفنون الجميلة – دير القمر” ضمن فعاليات “أبواب الجامعة المفتوحة” وذلك نهار السبت في 28 أيار 2011 ضمن حرم الجامعة | الساعة 2:00 بعد الظهر.

تتضمن ورشة العمل:

– مدخل الى الحصافة المدنية (تدون | تصوير | فيديو .. )

– إستخدام الإعلام المدني

– الهوية الرقمية

Students Fight Against Smoking

Students Anti Smoking a Lebanese NGO, Founded by a group of Students, to fight against Smoking, in Lebanon and the region, is participating to GYSD event, [ Global Youth Services Days ] hosted by AVS, During 15 – 17 April . So they Created 3 Activities , a Campaign and Petition Called “Smoke it Outside” that achieved an Administrative Law by “Lebanese University – IBA-4” to avoid smoking in the Faculity as a First Step in a long way.

The Second One was an “Awerness workshop” with Deir El Qamar Official Secondary School Students,  Presented by the members of “SAS” the workshop was designed to Inform the Teenagers about Smoking bad sides and facts, also about health problems caused by smoking, in a cool and funny way, so the participants were excited and following all the presentation, and participating with their opinions and playing the Smoking game that always leads to a heath problem
